Well here is our first ever tv review. What do you get when you combine old school fairy tales with Disney fairy tales, set them all in the same time and place, then put them into modern day America? You get "Once Apon A Time." This concept has been done in both a comic, movie, and a really bad sitcom. Anyway this is much better then it sounds. The series takes place in fictional Story Brooke Maine. A female bounty hunter Emma Swan, is visited by her 10 year old son, Henry Mills, that she had given up for adoption when she was 18. Taking him back home, Emma is told by her son that everyone from Story Brook is in fact the same people from the fairy tales, now under a curse and unable to remember who they are, or leave their small town. And no he's not making it up. This is brought to us from the same people who brought us "Lost", a series I recommend, but that is for another time. Like "Lost" much of the story is told by giving us glimpses of another time, flash backs in this case. Half the fun is seeing how all the characters originally got into their storybook situations. The orgin of Jimminy Cricket, Rumplestilskin, and The Mirror are but a few of these. Don't let the ties with Disney fool you. There is a not a tale for children. Love Triangles, betrayels, cruel and unsual punishments abound. Will Emma uncover the secrets of Story Brook? Will she break the curse? I do hope the series lasts long enough to find out, and maybe you will too!
